P.S. I was fascinated to find a 18th century wingbacked pad foot chair upholstered in the same silk brocade depicted in this childs dress which was sold at Arpad's and I never had the opportunity to purchase it. So here I am at the point of wanting to hang on to it because it is wonderful and letting it go to be enjoyed by someone who can appreciate it, display it and love it.

18th CENTURY CHILD'S PORTRAIT AMERICAN

Magnificant childs portrait. The jewel of my collections. Standard Size 32" H x 26 18" W Rectangular. Oil on Canvas.

Restored by Page Conservation, restorers to the National Gallery of Art and other museums around the country. An absolute treasure, Beautiful!

Now the background: Around 20 years ago I was an appraisal assistant at Arpad antiques a upscale Washington Antiques shop. I thought this was the jewel, the most lovely item there so I put it on layaway and paid it off week per week, I took the painting home and enjoyed it for 10 years.

Around 10 years ago when things were tough and my antiques shop was going downhill, I went to live with my boyfriend so I had to store the painting at my weekend retreat (which I rarely get to)in Annapolis where it has been and unenjoyed ever since.

Conservation report available upon request.
