Ch'ien Lung Blue Green Jadeite Dragon

A new year in China and Asia Year of the dragon;  Spring Festival, Lunar New Year 4710 = 2012

So Today I am thinking of the end of a year, and some of the beautiful items that went across the ocean to Hong Kong and China the Finest Blue Green Jade Belt Hook museum quality; a lovely nephrite jade child (18th century Ch’ien Lung.) A grand bronze mirror that went to Shanghai. I will post them here so I can remember them.  But much more traveled the oceans in the year of the rabbit.  I already can see the year of the dragon sales starting and treasures to be sent to China and around the world again.

My day was interesting.  I went to the flea markets as usual on Sunday, then had dim sum with Cecelia and Peter.  Then to Eden Center in Virginia for Vietnamese New Years Festivities, lots of dancing lions, and new years preparations.  I purchased yellow forsythia to welcome spring, a pineapple, 2 oranges, all for lunar new year.

I still have a bit of the flu from Hong Kong and so I rest for the rest of the day.  Planning on posting my Asia travel pics a little later into the new year. 

And so it go’s good bye year of the rabbit, and welcome dragon 2012

Antique Chinese Bronze Mirror

Gustavo Alberto  Romang of Greensboro NC ebay user id Gardir1964; purchased a really nice antique Chinese porcelain plate from me on eBay, last month in November. I shipped it well packaged he complained and wanted to send it back, he said it was damaged, I said ok. The way I recieved it was in broken condition, smashed by a hammer, or thrown against a wall. I’m so appalled. He shipped this plate in the exact box I shipped it in and the box was perfedct,  The plate did not get damaged in shipping.  Most customers are nice, this one is not…really an awful person, whom I wish the worst for.  What can be said about someone who deliberately breaks a precious antique, no more and no less.

On my wanderings I have found this fascinating antique Chinese scholars chop stamp seal.  It is beautifully cast in bronze, and is unusually signed on the back.  It is up at the Summer Treasures Auctions on eBay now.
